Hunts are searches for innovations in products, services, or marketing, usually conducted only with BIG's Inventor Network and lasting a short period. Contests are nationally publicized innovation searches that often have a broader focus and last a longer period. Hunts and Contests are sponsored by retailers or manufacturers. Sponsors of past Idea Hunts include Kraft, ABCO, Unilever, Thomson, Welch's, and more.
Both Hunts and Contests are ideal opportunities for inventors to create innovations that a sponsor is actively seeking. Besides offering the chance for licensing contracts, Hunts and Contests often involve monetary or merchandise prizes.
Idea Hunt: BIG Microbusiness Hunt
Big Idea Group is searching for inventions that could become the basis of a profitable microbusiness. BIG plans to form a venture to bring the best invention (or inventions) to market. The winning inventor(s) will receive not only a royalty on products sold, but also an equity stake in the new business that we form to launch the invention. Multiple inventions might be selected.

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful entries—our client was very pleased. Our client is now prototyping the products and will pick the best names to go with each after seeing those prototypes. Since we want to be sure that the people who suggested the names actually used are the ones rewarded, we’ll hold off on winner announcements until the prototypes are in. We expect to be able to declare winners by some time in February. Thanks for your patience.
We're pleased to announce finalists from the ABCO New Product Line Idea Hunt. It was a very challenging Hunt, but we received some great ideas that met our criteria.
Finalists:
Due to confidentiality agreements, we cannot disclose the nature of the ideas. ABCO will be exploring these opportunities, and we will contact inventors when they decide to move forward with an idea.
Given the quality of the field, this was a very tough Hunt to judge. We appreciate all the great contributions and your patience in waiting for results.
