Case Studies

Rebound Driveway Marker
A case study that illustrates how we brought an innovative branded solution to a generic product area is the Rebound Driveway Marker. The typical marker (used to delineate driveways covered by snow) is a pole that is difficult to insert into frozen ground and also tends to fall down easily and/or break when scraped by a vehicle. The Rebound solves both of those problems by incorporating a spike for easy insertion and a spring-based rod that bounces out of the way when hit by vehicles (see www.ReboundDrivewayMarker.com).

BIG partnered with the Rebound inventor, Arra David, to launch the product. Using consumer testing and efficient development and sourcing, we quickly and cost-effectively ramped up, bringing the Rebound to market in just nine months. First year sales are expected to reach approximately $2 million, rising to $3-5 million in revenues within a few years.

Perfect Pour Wiper Fluid
BIG is currently developing another product that’s also aimed at bringing innovation to a commodity: wiper fluid. Most wiper fluid is sold in identical gallon jugs, with nearly the same formula, and strongly branded products are the exception. After surveying consumers, we determined that there was an opportunity to produce a bottle that would be distinctively better. Working with designers and manufacturers, we produced a bottle that is less messy, easier to store and carry, and won’t tip over in trunks.
