Big Idea's CPG division encompasses a variety of products in kitchen and housewares, office, gardening tools, health and wellness, children's, promotional, fitness, infomercial, and more. This is a broad category, so if you'd like confirmation of our interest, please don't hesitate to email us at

In general, we're interested in seeing inventions that
- Address a widespread problem or significant opportunity in an innovative way: Your solution must be meaningfully and uniquely better than existing alternatives.
- Have broad and sustainable market appeal: We're not interested in fad or niche products.
- Are defensible and "ownable": Unless there is something that a company can own, defend, and keep competitors from imitating, they are unlikely to license an idea.
- Offer resolved solutions: You know how something can be made or accomplished--and at a cost which the target consumer will pay. As we always tell inventors, companies license inventions, not ideas.
- Are easily communicated: Consumers give a package on a retail shelf less than 5 seconds of study. Can you easily and quickly sell them in that time?
- Can be extended: The invention could lead to other items. "Onesies" are hard to license unless they're perfect matches for a company's existing line. And the return to both inventors and BIG is not as attractive with a single item, as opposed to a line.

Examples of past innovations we have licensed or produced:

Plates Plus
This versatile plate allows the user to insert and remove artwork in the plate base. Plates Plus was sold in versions for crafters and kids.

File Totes
These pop-up cubes offer an attractive paper-storage alternative to cardboard boxes and rubber tubs.

Memories to Go
MTG helps crafters store, organize, and access their supplies and accessories. An innovative grid system of removable pouches lets crafters swap in and out supplies as they please.
